Hi there! My name is Rachel, I’m a qualified lawyer, self-taught artist and founder of Rachel Grove Art Studio.  Here’s a little bit about my story.

My own artistic journey began in 2021 during the challenging times of the COVID-19 lockdowns. Seeking a creative outlet, I discovered the joy of painting.

I primarily work in oils but I started with (and continue to love) gouache, watercolour and coloured pencil. To me, there is magic in colour, and much of my work is inspired by the unexpected colours we can find all around us (with a little observation). Learning to paint has shown me that not everything is as it seems; shadows are often blue and purple, water is often green and gold, and a white lily might have flecks of purple. It's this fascination with the alchemy of colour that drives me to paint and continue my artistic journey every day.

What started as a personal endeavor soon transformed into a means of spreading joy to my loved ones. Encouraged by positive responses, I started showcasing and selling my artwork at local markets in Melbourne in 2022. As my business grew, I received requests for commissioned artworks from individuals worldwide, spanning continents from the USA to Singapore. These pieces allowed me to connect with clients and bring their ideas to life.

In May 2023, I took a significant step forward by leasing a shop in Camberwell and late in 2023, I quit my full time job to pursue running the Studio full time.

I truly believe that making and sharing art is one of the most authentic ways we can connect and build community. That's why my dream is to build an inclusive Studio where people can explore creativity, engage with the arts, and make lasting connections.
