Welcome everyone to this student forum! I'm so excited to have you here and I can't wait for this little painting community to grow. This forum is your space to share any painting questions, tips, tricks or what you're working on!

As a self taught painter, I have gone through most of my art journey alone and so I wanted to create a place where we can come together and connect. I truly hope this forum can become a place for us all to collaborate and share a little of our own journeys.

Hi, I'm Rachel and welcome to this little corner of the internet dedicated to building a community of artists and art lovers.

In 2020, I started painting for the first time, and absolutely fell in love. It really is true that once you start exploring art, it fundamentally changes how you see the world. I learned mainly through watching YouTube videos, reading any books I could find and most of all, just playing around to see what I could create.

In 2021, I decided to take the plunge and show some of my art at local markets. I was absolutely terrified to put myself out there but I'm so glad I did. It was incredible to get to connect with other people not just about things I had made, but their own creations or inspirations. What had been such a solitary process of learning to paint and experimenting by myself suddenly became a joy that could be shared.

In 2023, I took the plunge and left my full time job as a lawyer to open my own studio and pursue the dream of making art full time. Since then, I've been working on building a community of like minded people.

I know how hard it can be to develop new skills alone, so I wanted to create this forum for people to share, connect and collaborate about what they are working on, tips and tricks and anything else art related! Welcome and happy chatting.
