If you’ve always wanted to try landscapes or you’d just like to experiment, this class is for you! This course is all about creating fun realistic landscapes and using colour to tell a story. This course is open for complete beginners and those with some painting experience! This course will be structured a little differently from my other classes. In the first two weeks, we’ll focus on short painting studies—exploring brushwork, colour mixing, glazing, and different approaches to capturing light and atmosphere. These small, focused exercises will give you the tools and confidence you need before moving on to a larger piece. In the last three weeks, we’ll put everything together as you work on a final landscape painting. You’ll have the choice of using reference images I provide, or you can bring along your own if there’s a special place you’d love to capture in paint. Throughout the course, I’ll be right there to guide you with step-by-step demonstrations and one-on-one feedback :) **Course Dates (5 weeks on Saturday afternoons)** Week 1: 4 October 2025, 1:30pm - 3:00pm Week 2: 11 October 2025, 1:30pm - 3:00pm Week 3: 18 October 2025, 1:30pm - 3:00pm Week 4: 25 October 2025, 1:30pm - 3:00pm Week 5: 1 November 2025, 1:30pm - 3:00pm **What you will learn** - Introduction to oils and mediums, including developing a safe studio practice at home - Handling your brush and brushwork techniques - Colour theory - Composition - Mixing colours to create mood and atmosphere - Glazing **Inclusions** - Kit hire (all the materials you will need throughout the course + a canvas to take home) - 1:1 attention and support to answer your questions and guide you - Step by step guidance - Practical demonstration - Supportive and cosy environment **Want to purchase your own kit to take home?** If you'd like to purchase your own kit to keep, please select the "Course Ticket + Kit" ticket option. Kits are $95 and include: - A basic oil paint set - Canvas - Medium (refined linseed oil) - Three brushes - Turpentine **FAQ's** *Is there parking/public transport access?* On street parking is available right outside the Studio along Camberwell Road. The Studio is also just across the road from the Camberwell Civil Centre #75 Tram stop. *What should I bring?* Comfortable clothes that you don't mind potentially getting messy. *Do I need any painting or drawing experience?* Absolutely not! This is a beginner course :)
